This eight year old boy complains of headache, lasting for last 3 months. No history of trauma. CNS exam including fundus was normal. Locallized tenderness noticed on the parietal side. No swelling. CT skull is enclosed
1. Radiological finding
Single/Multiple skull lesions
2. Probable clinical dx?
Langerhans cell histiocytosis former name histiocytosis x CLCH
3. Pathophysiology?
V600 E Mutation Braf Gene, neoplastic disorder, though it doesn’t behave like a malignant fashion, originating from myeloid cell precursor.
4. Specific Microscopic (EM) findings
Sp. Microscopy: Coffee bean–shaped nuclei [EM], Birbeck granules (tennis racket appearance)
